Cherry Bounce Old Fashioned

What’s more Wisconsin that a brandy old fashioned? A brandy old fashioned made with cherry bounce! Impatient? The bounce is ready to go after one week, aging it longer only intensifies the flavors.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: Yields: 1 cocktail, easily multiplied
  • 6-8 dashes bitters
  • ¼ orange slice
  • 1 ½ oz. cherry bounce, recipe below
  • 3/4 oz. brandy
  • Club soda
  • Brandy soaked cherries and orange rind, to garnish
CHERRY BOUNCE
  • 2 cups brandy
  • ¼ - 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pound frozen, pitted cherries

Preparation

Prep Time: 0 minutes • Cook Time: 5 minutes • Total Time: 5 minutes

In the bottom of a rocks glass, muddle the bitters and the orange slice. Add cherry bounce and brandy, stirring to combine. Fill glass with ice before topping with club soda. To serve, garnish with cherries and orange rind, if desired.

CHERRY BOUNCE

Prep Time: 0 minutes • Cook Time: 10 minutes • Total Time: 10 minutes

Yields: 1 quart

In a small saucepan, combine the brandy and sugar and heat gently, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in frozen cherries. Pour bounce into a large mason jar and leave on the counter for one week, shaking occasionally. Place in cupboard for an additional month before using. Bounce can be stored in a cool dark place for up to three months.
