Cinnamon Maple Old-Fashioned and Cinnamon Rosemary Maple Simple Syrup

Ingredients

CINNAMON MAPLE OLD-FASHIONED
  • 4 tsp cinnamon rosemary maple simple syrup (recipe below)
  • 3 dashes angostura bitters
  • 2 oz bourbon or brandy
CINNAMON ROSEMARY MAPLE SIMPLE SYRUP
  • ¾ c sugar
  • ¼ c maple syrup
  • 1 c water
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • Additional cinnamon sticks and fresh rosemary to place in cooled bottled syrup

Instructions

TO PREPARE CINNAMON MAPLE OLD-FASHIONED

Makes one serving

Place the simple syrup and bitters in an Old-Fashioned glass. Add the bourbon or brandy and ice. Stir to combine. Garnish with a rosemary sprig, cinnamon stick and fresh orange peel. 

TO PREPARE CINNAMON ROSEMARY MAPLE SIMPLE SYRUP

Makes 2 cups

Place all of the ingredients in a saucepot. Bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes, then turn off heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Once cool, strain mixture to remove the rosemary and cinnamon sticks. Pour mixture into a clean clear bottle or glass jar. Place new sprigs of fresh rosemary and cinnamon sticks into the syrup. Decorate bottle top with a ribbon.
