HERBAL SIMPLE SYRUP

A simple syrup is an excellent way to capture the flavors of an herb to add to beverages.

Instructions

Pour 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water into a pot. 

Heat the ingredients until they dissolve over medium heat.Stir the simple syrup until the liquid is completely clear, not cloudy. 

Remove from the stovetop and place on a hot pad. Add herbs into the heated pot. Stir them into the syrup and cover to allow the simple syrup to steep for about 30 minutes. 

Once the simple syrup is cool, strain the herbs to remove them. 

Keep it cold. Store the simple syrup in an airtight container in the fridge. 

Herbal simple syrups last a week or two.
